A little known gem,
this tall, airy plant looks best when planted
in groups. The foliage is fern like and the
small, bright yellow flowers bloom in
clusters, for weeks. It grows to 5' tall so
is good with other tall things towards the
back of a border, Verbena bonariensis, for
example. On the other hand, because it's one
of those 'see through' plants, it works at
the front of a border, too or running
vertically down the middle to create a sort
of curtain and create interest. Plant in well
drained soil in full sun and give it room.
Don't let other plants' seedlings crowd it
out. Because of its height, we have to cut
down plants sent out after late summer. 2
